Therapy for Eating Disorders, Trauma & Body Image
In-Person in Asheville, NC
Virtual Across North & South Carolina
Move from survival and rigidity towards balance, connection, and a life that feels like your own.
When you're constantly managing food, criticizing your body, or living with the effects of trauma, it can feel like you're always working against yourself.
Maybe you've become disconnected from your body. Maybe your mind never slows down. Perhaps anxiety is overwhelming you. Maybe you're exhausted from trying to do everything perfectly while quietly wondering why life still feels so hard. Maybe you’ve become convinced that you’re “too much” in some ways and “not enough” in others.
You don't have to keep carrying all of that alone.
At Caitlin Craig Counseling, I help adolescents and adults reconnect with themselves through compassionate, evidence-based therapy that integrates both insight and embodied healing. Together, we'll work toward greater freedom, flexibility, and a deeper sense of ease in your life.
Healing Happens When Your Mind and Body Work Together
Many people have learned to cope by overriding their needs, disconnecting from their emotions, or trying to control what feels uncontrollable.
Those strategies often make sense—they helped you survive.
But eventually they can leave you feeling trapped by rigid rules, crippling anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, or an ongoing struggle with food and body image.
My approach integrates cognitive and behavioral therapies with body-based interventions because lasting healing isn't just about changing your thoughts. It's about helping your entire nervous system experience safety, flexibility, and connection again.
Specialized Care for the Whole Person
I specialize in therapy for:
Eating disorders and disordered eating
Trauma and PTSD
Body image concerns
Perfectionism and over-control
Burnout and chronic self-criticism
Nervous system regulation
My work is trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, Health at Every Size® aligned, neurodiversity-affirming, and rooted in social justice.
Drawing from nearly two decades of experience—including years as a yoga teacher before becoming a therapist—I integrate mind, body, and spirit in ways that honor your unique experiences rather than asking you to fit into a one-size-fits-all model.
Whether you're navigating an eating disorder, trauma, body image distress, or the ways these experiences overlap, therapy can help you move from simply getting through the day toward living with more balance, freedom, and self-trust.
Meet Caitlin
I believe healing happens through curiosity, compassion, and genuine connection.
Before becoming a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist, I spent years teaching yoga and helping people reconnect with themselves through movement and mindful awareness. Today, I bring together that foundation with extensive clinical training and experience treating eating disorders across residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings.
My therapeutic offerings successfully support you to reconnect with the parts of yourself that have always been there beneath the fear, shame, perfectionism, and survival strategies.
You Don't Have to Figure This Out Alone
Finding the right therapist matters. A consultation is simply a chance for us to talk about what's bringing you here, answer your questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
If you're ready to begin moving toward greater balance, freedom, and connection, I'd be honored to meet you.
